Research in Northern Health works to promote excellence in every service by integrating research, evaluation and evidence into practice.

The research and evaluation department as well as the Innovation and Development Commons (IDC) actively work to support our staff, physicians and patients to conduct or engage in research activities, build evidence into their practice.

The goal of research and evaluation in Northern Health is to support creating an organizational culture which encourages, expects and supports the application of health services research in everyday practice.

We work to achieve this goal by building organizational capacity to engage in research, support the development of relevant research partnerships, build internal capacity for knowledge translation and implementation science and review research occurring in Northern Health with Northern Health staff and/or patients to ensure that ethical principles and standards have been recognized and accommodated and the impact of research to Northern Health has been considered.
